logline
While grappling with growing apart from her childhood best friend, an introverted teenage girl is forced to confront her obsession with a male pop star.
director's statement
In My Savior, I aim to capture the impermanence of childhood and the ways in which teenagers come to understand the full weight of growing up. The script, written by Cita Atwell, unpacks the heightened emotions that arise during this transitional stage of life. In this fictional world, my characters are able to indulge in their desires to dominate and experience the release, as well as the consequences, of explosive fantasy-fulfillment.

Virgins Eat Cake

logline
An innocent teen girl sleepover turns into a sinister act of revenge.
director's statement
In Virgins Eat Cake, I incorporate heavily stylized production design, lighting, and directorial choices to reflect the lens through which this group of young girls views the world. I touch on how young girls talk about and interact with young boys, playing up the stereotypical gender roles that can be especially present in groups of teenagers. There is something fantastical about boys to these girls, despite the humiliation boys have caused them. The girls cannot help but be obsessed with virginity, beauty, and their own bodies — all things that are both difficult to come to terms with and so often taken away from them.

Two teenagers, just after graduating high school, attempt to reinvent themselves as a means of navigating adulthood.
A slice of life, “Bennie & Mason” is about trying embarrassingly hard to be cool, screwing up your eyeliner, and stale pancakes.

In The Name of The Father

logline
A devoutly religious 14-year-old girl struggles with body image issues and her faith as the ridicule from her insensitive and aloof father becomes too much for her to bear.

Shot in 35 MM in Prague, Czech Republic.

director's statement
In this film, I aim to capture the overwhelming feeling of being trapped and the shame that comes with eating disorders and relate it to faith and morality. In The Name of The Father follows its protagonist as she tries to navigate these issues until they become too much to bear. To reflect the heightened emotions that a teenage girl can experience, the film is stylized and exaggerated, pushing its plot to an extreme.
